(May 26, 2022) The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) program is organizing two QIS community networking workshops. These are designed to increase participation of underrepresented groups in the quantum computing and networking workforce, and to increase participation of underrepresented institutions in quantum computing and networking workforce training.
ASCR is supporting these two regionally focused networking events to foster partnering and exploration of potential collaboration topics. Each event will host a small group of national laboratory participants and participants from potential partner institutions. These workshops are associated with the DOE “Reaching a New Energy Sciences Workforce (RENEW)” activities.

The workshops will be in-person events hosted on-site at National Laboratories and scheduled for:
- Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, June 29 – July 1, 2022
- Oak Ridge National Laboratory, July 13 – 15, 2022
While the early registration deadlines are very soon, DOE staff may be able to consider applications after the early registration dates. Furthermore, some portions of the meetings may be open to remote participants.
